Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Title:Civil Litigation Associate Attorney Job Overview: A respected law firm based in Washington, DC, is seeking a dynamic Associate Attorney with early-career litigation experience to support its appellate and civil litigation caseload. This hybrid position offers the chance to engage in all phases of litigation, from case initiation through resolution, in a practice that emphasizes thoughtful advocacy and legal precision. Duties: Manage case matters through all stages, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial Conduct and defend depositions Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs with strong legal reasoning Collaborate with partners and team members on strategy and case development Participate in mediations, court appearances, and appellate proceedings Analyze complex legal issues and develop compelling arguments Ensure timely and effective client communication Requirements: Minimum 1 year of judicial clerkship or 1-3 years of litigation experience at a private law firm Demonstrated proficiency in handling discovery, depositions, and dispositive motions Admission to practice in at least one of the following: Virginia (VA), Maryland (MD), or the District of Columbia (DC) Willingness to obtain DC licensure within one year if not already admitted Additional Bar memberships in New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ), or West Virginia (WV) are advantageous Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Certifications: Active and good standing with a State Bar (DC, VA, or MD required) Skills: Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities Clear and persuasive oral and written communication Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail and organizational efficiency Capable of managing multiple active cases in a fast-paced environment Job Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid work model available) Company info BCG Attorney Search 1629 K ST NW, Suite 300 Washington District of Columbia United States 20006 Phone :
