Job Details We are seeking a Director of Structural Engineering to lead our Structural Engineering department. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing structural design projects, ensuring technical excellence, managing a team of engineers, and driving business development efforts. The Director will collaborate with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, efficient, and innovative structural engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Structural Engineering department, ensuring high standards in design and project execution.
Oversee the planning, analysis, and design of structural systems for a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the engineering team.
Train junior engineers and ensure the team stays up to date with industry advancements, codes, and best practices.
Ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
Participate in business development activities, including client engagement, proposal development, and project bidding.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to optimize efficiency and profitability.
Stay current with advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction methods to drive innovation.
Represent the Firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; SE license preferred
10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role
Strong technical expertise in structural analysis, design software, and construction practices
Excellent leadership, team management, and mentorship skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong communication and client relationship management skills; Business Development is a plus
