Responsibilities
Lead structural design for bridges, retaining walls, overhead sign structures, and other infrastructure elements. Compute and check design calculations and oversee development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Develop and lead a team of engineers and technicians; mentor less experienced team members. Engage in business development activities, including client contacts, project tracking, and proposal writing. Collaborate with roadway, drainage, geotechnical and other disciplines to deliver high-quality project deliverables. Provide quality control for structural design and calculations produced by others. Required Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis 10+ years of experience in bridge and transportation structures design Minnesota Professional Engineer (PE) License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment Strong working knowledge of structural analysis software (CSiBridge, LARSA 4D, MIDAS, STAAD, Bentley OpenBridge Designer, Bentley OpenRoads CAD) Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and MnDOT policies and procedures Experience in proposal writing and development of structural project scopes, schedules, and budgets Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills Preferred Experience
