Overview
Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Development & Community Relations Grants Manager to support a client in Walnut Creek. The Grants Manager works with the Director of Development and Community Relations, the Executive Director, the Finance Director, Director of Programs, and Program Managers to create and implement all aspects of the grants program, including prospect research, developing funding strategy with Leadership, writing grants, obtaining budget information, coordinating information collection from Leadership, communicating with program officers, and completing grant reports. The Grants Manager leads all institutional giving initiatives, as well as follow-up reports and acknowledgments to funding sources. The position requires excellent writing skills, time management for submissions and reports, research skills, and coordination between departments. The Grants Manager is the only staff member dedicated to securing grant funding within a small, collaborative team that includes community relations and individual donor staff. Role details

M-F, 30 - 40 hours a week Salary:
$37 - $45/ hour DOE Base pay range:
$37.00/hr - $45.00/hr Temp to hire Duties and Responsibilities
Research and identify new private foundations, corporate, community-based, and government (all levels) funding prospects to meet the organization's funding needs and match organizational priorities. Write compelling, well-written and well-documented grants. Develop and project manage proposals to government and private funding prospects. Develop and write reports to private and governmental funders to ensure compliance with grant requirements and to strengthen relationships with funders. Work closely with Leadership, Finance, and Programs teams to ensure accurate reporting. Develop and maintain grant proposal and reporting tracking system to ensure proposal and reporting deadlines and grant revenue projections are met. Maintain documentation of all grants, reports, and related information in an organized folder in SharePoint. Work closely with agency and Program Leadership to develop and refine programs for funding proposals. Required Skills
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written. An excellent communicator who can write concise, compelling proposal narratives, and effectively communicate with a broad range of stakeholders, including interfacing with foundation program officers. Attention to detail. Ability to read and synthesize large amounts of complex information to ensure grant proposal and report guidelines are being met and that all information is accurate. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to collaboratively work with stakeholders at all levels of agency to manage and coordinate projects, ensuring their buy-in and participation. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Can handle multiple competing deadlines. Can manage multiple grant applications, reports, deadlines and other responsibilities of varying complexity and importance at any given time. Be a self-starter, work autonomously, use independent judgement and be able to produce high quality work with tight time constraints. Can generate a grant application from concept to submittal with minimal direction. Excellent prospect research skills. Research grant opportunities using the Foundation Directory Online, websites, and tax filings of foundations. Ability to create budgets and read financial statements. Must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Education and Experience
Relevant Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of 4-5 years of experience as a grant writer or grants manager, with a successful track record of raising grant funds for a non-profit organization, required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of agency, required. Highly skilled in Word, Excel, and Outlook, required. Experience managing competing projects and deadlines required. Previous experience with social service grants and successful award outcomes, highly desirable. Experience in writing successful government grants, including local, state, and federal grants, highly desirable. Knowledge of local funding partners preferred. EEO Statement
