As a Senior Orbital Mission Software Engineer on Space, you will own the architecture and deployment of software solutions that support specific customer missions for on-orbit spacecraft operations and mission management. You will provide guidance and oversight to a team developing modular capabilities for DoD and IC customers across the space domain, interfacing with the Anduril Lattice software platform team. You will work on architecture of orbital software systems, algorithms, and coding to support orbital systems and their interfaces with multi-domain systems, ensuring integration with legacy defense systems as well as new space systems. The role includes interfaces to multi-modal payload platforms, bus platforms and networking solutions in proliferated satellite constellations. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own the software solutions deployed to customers. Own the development of on-orbit software capabilities for end-to-end mission systems. Integrate with legacy systems to enable modern capabilities. Write code to improve products and scale mission capability across diverse users and customers. Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality. Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring. Triage issues, determine root causes, and coordinate next steps. Partner with end-users to translate needs into features while balancing UX with engineering constraints. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and detailed requirements. Capable of solving complex technical problems with minimal oversight. Clear communication and organizational skills including documentation and training materials. 5-10+ years experience with Python, C++, Rust, or Go. Experience with spacecraft software systems and spacecraft operations. Experience with satellite mission autonomy, including fault isolation and recovery. Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced expertise with Python, Go, Rust, or C++. Experience with deployment tooling like Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Helm. A desire to work on critical software in the space domain. Experience with OMS/UCI standards and modular software services development. Compensation and Benefits

US Salary Range: $168,000 - $252,000 USD. This range is an estimate and actual offers depend on multiple factors.
