Were seeking a Software Engineer II whos excited to explore new technologies, write elegant and robust code, and drive engineering excellence across the stack. Youll contribute to rapid, iterative releases and have the opportunity to innovate across multiple areas of our product, from protocol handling and graphics rendering to authentication and telemetry. Responsibilities Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to address complex technical challenges in delivering seamless, secure, and high-performance remote desktop experiences via the web. Design and develop secure, testable, and maintainable code for browser-based remote desktop scenarios, ensuring compatibility across Chromium, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC) with end-to-end accountability for service quality, and share knowledge to foster continuous learning within a diverse, inclusive team. Embrace agile engineering practices and a DevOps culture, focusing on rapid, iterative releases and proactive Live Site monitoring. Prototype and validate new features through quick proofs of concept using customer feedback and telemetry. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to maintain high reliability and performance for enterprise and consumer users. Develop and maintain telemetry pipelines, Live Site monitors, and automated alerts to ensure robust service health and rapid incident response. Leverage data and telemetry to inform decisions, drive feedback into system design, and continually enhance usability, security, and reliability of remote desktop solutions. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Experience with web technologies (e.g. React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript) and browser platforms (Chromium, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and secure coding practices. Other Requirements Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience OR Masters Degree and 2+ years of experience, in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production-quality software. Hands-on experience with remote desktop protocols (RDP), graphics PDUs, or virtual channels. Exposure to live site engineering practices, telemetry pipelines, and monitoring systems. Ability to work across the stack (frontend React/TypeScript and backend C++ services). Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset; ability to mentor others. Experience in agile teams with short release cycles and a DevOps culture. Software Engineering IC3 typical base pay range across the U.S. is USD 100,600 - 199,000 per year. For specific locations (SF Bay Area, NYC metro), the range is USD 131,400 - 215,400 per year. Roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
