Key Responsibilities Implement, manage, and optimize security functions related to perimeter and access security, and support security operation teams.
Additional key responsibilities include:
Plan, implement, and manage enterprise cybersecurity access control technologies including multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, RADIUS, and TACACS.
Configure and manage EDR and/or XDR, host-based firewalls.
Manage PKI systems.
Configure, manage, and optimize network firewalls, IDS/IPS, virtualized firewalls.
Implement and operate DMZs, web application firewalls, reverse and forward proxies.
Configure security logging, establish baselines, and assist in security event detection through SIEM.
Manage SIEM, perform upgrades and patching.
Perform vulnerability remediation within established timelines.
Conduct secure design reviews of systems and applications.
Work independently, lead projects with accountability, and deliver results on deadlines.
Develop security procedures based on NIST 800-535 RMF.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; additional experience considered in lieu of degree.
At least 5 years of experience as a Security Engineer or similar role.
Knowledge of Authentication, Endpoint Security, Network Security, IAM solutions.
Experience with IDS/IPS and SIEM software.
Ability to analyze network and host-based security events.
Familiarity with network security architectures including DMZs, VPNs, segmentation.
Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
Experience with incident and change management, incident response lifecycle.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, network analysis, security applications.
Additional criteria
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CRISC, F5, Cisco, Fortinet, Splunk) are a plus.
Knowledge of Authentication, Endpoint Security, Internet Policy Enforcement, Firewalls, DLP, PKI, IAM solutions.
