Director of Tennis Job Description Title: Tennis Director Reports to: General Manager Indian Hills Country Club is a 750-member private club in the heart of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Club has a vibrant calendar of events and a active membership. We are seeking a leader to develop the tennis program for all members to enjoy and to join a great team here at Indian Hills. Position Summary

The Director of Tennis oversees all tennis operations at Indian Hills Country Club, providing strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the tennis program. This role supervises the coaching staff, cultivates a positive team culture, and delivers a full range of high-quality tennis programs that engage members of all ages and skill levels. By balancing administrative responsibilities with on-court leadership, the Director ensures an exceptional tennis experience and promotes member participation and satisfaction. Core Competencies

Coaching Staff Management

Oversee all new coach hires and dismissals in conjunction with General Manager Responsible for onboarding of all new coaching staff (training and orientation) Create and monitor all coach schedules for programs and private lessons Run department meetings with relevant coaches on a weekly basis Follow up and ensure that coaches are following annual plans and guidelines Ensure coaches are following all club rules Perform annual reviews for coaching staff (January) Collaborate with Communications Coordinator to create promotional materials and communication strategies to highlight upcoming events and programs Stay current with industry trends, innovations, and best practices to implement improvements in programming and operations Programs and Events

Responsible for the development and promotion of all junior and adult programming Oversee all club tournaments (coordinate timing, prizes, staffing & scheduling) Plan and organize club matches and social events for members Plan and report tennis outing P&L’s Managerial

Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings Attend a weekly meeting with the General Manager Monitor court usage Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs Develop and manage the budget for the program, ensuring profitability and sustainability Analyze program performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize offerings Responsible for ordering, merchandising and promoting the tennis department’s inventory Oversee, schedule and communicate all court maintenance Oversee registration of tournaments Coordinate and collaborate with other departments Promote and maintain high level of respect through ongoing positive interaction and communication with members, staff and colleagues Working Conditions

The Director’s time should be focused on the administrative side of the business (addressing member and guest inquiries, managing coaching staff, creating and monitoring budgets, planning and implementing programs and running special events). The remainder of the time should be spent coaching on court. Club Benefits

3–5 years of experience as a Director of Tennis at a high-end country club or tennis club with proven success in managing tennis and pickleball operations Strong ability to work with boards, committees, and leadership to align with the club’s mission and vision Demonstrated skills in sales, marketing, budgeting, and department administration Elite USPTA and/or PTR certified with current continuing education Familiarity with the Serve Tennis platform (USTA) Professional Pickleball Registry certification (preferred) USTA Safe Play certification Current CPR certification Please send resumes to: Nicholas Gora, CCM.
