highly technical Sr. Cost Accountant
with deep expertise in
BOM (Bill of Materials), standard costing, and manufacturing cost analysis . This role partners closely with operations, production, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost structures, optimize product profitability, and support global reporting initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and manage
Bill of Materials (BOMs)
for multiple product lines, ensuring accuracy in standard costs and inventory valuation. Prepare and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead. Investigate and report
variances between actual and standard costs , providing actionable insights to operations and leadership. Support
monthly, quarterly, and annual close , including inventory and cost of goods sold reporting. Collaborate with operations, procurement, and engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve manufacturing efficiency. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling initiatives. Ensure compliance with
GAAP
and internal control requirements for cost accounting processes. Generate and present technical cost reports, KPIs, and dashboards for finance leadership and business stakeholders. Partner with global teams on ERP, BOM, and process improvement projects. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred. 3–5+ years of
technical cost accounting experience , preferably in manufacturing or distribution. Strong experience managing
BOMs , standard costs, and manufacturing cost structures. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills. Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional and global teams. Excellent communication skills to explain complex cost structures to non-finance stakeholders.
