Overview GCS-SIGAL seeks out challenging, rewarding projects and creative problem solvers to help us build them. We provide general contracting, construction management, and pre-construction services, with an emphasis on design-build project delivery and sustainable construction. Our projects include base buildings, renovations, historic modernizations, and tenant interiors.

Position Overview

The Rotational Field Engineer at GCS-SIGAL is responsible for supporting field operations on base-building or interior projects, ensuring compliance with safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction standards. The Rotation of the Field Engineer will be on a structured 12-month rotation across four active projects (3 months each), gaining exposure to both field and office project execution.

Rotational Field Engineer’s typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

Assist field team with essential duties

Actively maintain a safe work environment and enforce quality control policies

Creatively solve challenges that arise on projects with a positive attitude

Communicate clearly and effectively to clients and subcontractors on the status of the project

Maintain a clear understanding of how daily operations affect project milestones

Understand contract documents

Attend weekly contractor meetings

Assist in maintaining daily reports and documentation using Procore

Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to the project team, subcontractors, and owner’s representatives

Assist with overseeing project quality plan

Experience / Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction, architecture, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excel at teamwork

Be able to effectively communicate in person, on the phone, and via email

Focus on achieving results

Proven ability to multi-task in deadline-driven environment

Knowledgeable of principles of architecture, engineering, and construction

Strong documentation skills

Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications

Working knowledge of construction safety protocols

Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
