Overview
Plant Controller – Agriculture / Food Manufacturing. Location: Onsite, Oxnard, CA. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Base pay range: $150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr This position will also provide financial oversight for two additional processing facilities located in Florida and Georgia. $150,000 – $180,000 annually and great benefits. TEWS Company is proud to partner with a long-standing client in the agriculture and food manufacturing industry to identify a Plant Controller for their Oxnard, CA operations. Job location: Oxnard, CA with oversight of additional sites in Florida and Georgia. Note: This is a hands-on finance role requiring strong cost accounting experience and an entrepreneurial mindset. What You’ll Do
Lead financial reporting and month-end close for the Oxnard plant and provide oversight for additional processing sites in Florida and Georgia. Maintain and improve standard cost systems; analyze cost variances and deliver insights to drive operational efficiency. Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to support daily decision-making and long-term strategy. Identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost savings through detailed analysis of plant performance. Prepare financial justifications and business cases for major investments, including automation and equipment upgrades. Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliations, and physical counts across multiple facilities. Manage capital expenditure requests and fixed asset accounting. Develop and monitor plant-level budgets and forecasts, including labor, overhead, and production volumes. Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to plant-based accounting staff. Collaborate with corporate finance on reporting improvements and cross-functional initiatives. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required; CPA or MBA preferred. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on cost/plant accounting; background in food, agriculture, or CPG highly preferred. Deep knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and operational finance. Strong experience preparing and presenting capital requests. Proficiency with modern ERP systems (Microsoft D365 preferred) and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across multiple teams. Highly adaptable, with an entrepreneurial spirit and eagerness to take on new challenges. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required. Travel
