They specialise in structuring and financing large-scale complex project-finance transactions supporting critical infrastructure including energy, power, utilities, renewables and data centres. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President, Portfolio Manager to join the Project Finance team in Atlanta, GA. This role drives deal diligence, structuring, execution and client relationships while delivering on the bank’s mission to support sustainable and impactful projects.
This role suits a Senior Associate or a VP currently working at a Project Finance Bank or a Sponsor/Developer. The bank provides relocation support and a market-leading suite of employment benefits.
Responsibilities
Origination, structuring, and execution of project finance transactions in renewable energy, power, utilities and infrastructure.
Oversee all aspects of the transaction lifecycle including preparing pitch materials, deal, due diligence, credit analysis, legal documentation, and deal closing.
Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, developers, institutional investors, and other stakeholders in the project finance ecosystem.
Collaborate with internal credit and risk management teams to ensure alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and credit policies.
Monitor and manage portfolio performance, including assessing project risks, covenant compliance, and proactive client engagement.
Mentor and lead within the project finance team, guiding junior staff and supporting team development.
Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or related field with a track record on complex transactions.
Expertise in financial modelling, credit analysis, credit underwriting and structuring debt or equity for large-scale energy & infrastructure projects.
Deep understanding of renewable energy, utilities, and infrastructure sectors; knowledge of emerging trends and technologies.
Proven ability to build and nurture client relationships.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
Familiarity with regulatory and market considerations impacting project finance, including tax equity, PPA structures, and energy market dynamics.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; CFA or similar certifications are a plus.
MBA or graduate degree desirable but not essential.
Competitive Salary + Bonus (up to $200K + 50-60% bonus).
