Associate Director of College Counseling
to join our Upper School team. In this role, you’ll do more than guide students through the college admissions process—you’ll walk beside them as they imagine their futures, define their goals, and grow in confidence. If you're passionate about

the infinite worth and dignity of every individual , we invite you to apply. What You’ll Do As a key member of our College Counseling team, you’ll: Advise and support a caseload of approximately
30–35 students per grade
through every stage of the college search and application process Provide
academic advising
that aligns with students' personal goals and strengths Conduct one-on-one, family, small group, and full-class sessions with empathy and clarity Communicate effectively with students and families on topics including college admissions, testing, scholarships, summer opportunities, and financial aid Support students as they develop application materials—ensuring authenticity and excellence Partner with the Director of College Counseling to design
innovative programming
and host impactful events Build and sustain strong relationships with
college admission officers
across a diverse range of institutions Stay current on trends and policies in higher education by participating in
local, regional, and national conferences Engage fully in the life of the school through departmental and faculty meetings, professional learning, and student programming Model ethical behavior, professionalism, and positivity every day Step in to support additional duties as needed to enrich the Walker experience for all What You Bring A
Bachelor’s degree
is required;
Master’s degree
strongly preferred 4–6 years
of experience in college counseling and/or college admissions Deep understanding of the
college admissions landscape
and a passion for guiding students through it Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with a wide range of audiences A collaborative spirit, with comfort in both team environments and independent work A deep commitment to
diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
and a growth mindset for building your own cultural competency Tech-savvy, with a desire to stay informed of emerging tools and platforms Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the ability to meet important deadlines while juggling multiple projects Enthusiasm for working in a vibrant school setting and the flexibility to attend some events during evenings or weekends Why Walker?
