The Nurse Manager Organ Transplant and Liver Center manages Pre Kidney Transplant, Living Kidney Donor, Post Kidney Transplant, Pre Liver Transplant, Post Liver Transplant Hepatology, Hepatobiliary and on‑call transplant RNs in the Organ Transplant Program and Liver Center at Swedish Health Services. Responsibilities include development and management of the department budget and planning to maintain regulatory requirements. Build and maintain relationships with patients, business partners, inpatient departments, referring physicians, hospitals, dialysis centers, outreach clinics, regulatory agencies, administration and the community. Provides overall management of Pre Kidney Transplant, Living Kidney Donor, Post Kidney Transplant, Pre Liver Transplant, Post Liver Transplant Hepatology, Hepatobiliary and on‑call transplant RNs throughout all phases of transplantation. Defines evidence‑based, outcome‑driven goals and assists in formulating a plan to achieve these goals. Collaborates with inpatient departments as appropriate, providing information as needed regarding patient care needs. Participates in multidisciplinary clinical rounds as appropriate to evaluate patient care and provide feedback to staff. Collaborates with inpatient departments to establish and/or maintain transplant specific staff competency training. Demonstrates management responsibilities in accordance with the organization\'s Human Resource policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring orientation, training employees, evaluating performance, rewarding employees and following corrective action measures and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for budget development, implementation and monitoring as well as forecasting, planning and directing program growth and service expansion. Develops staffing plans and schedules and performs workflow analysis to optimize resources. Establishes and maintains a visible leadership role for the Pre Kidney Transplant, Living Kidney Donor, Post Kidney Transplant, Pre Liver Transplant, Post Liver Transplant Hepatology, and Hepatobiliary and on‑call transplant RNs in clinical areas within Swedish. Collaborates with practitioners and physicians to assess and improve clinical outcomes. In collaboration with physicians, director and advanced nurse practitioners, participates in writing protocols for appropriate care delivery for areas of responsibility. Participates in writing, review, and revision of administrative and clinical policies as appropriate. Maintain current CMS and UNOS regulatory policies in relation to transplant RNs and revise as needed. In collaboration with director and medical director(s), assists in building community relations locally and regionally to enhance the Hepatology, Hepatobiliary and Organ Transplant Service Line consistent with business development initiatives. Seeks to increase knowledge and skills. Takes responsibility for continuous learning and development. Representation for Organ Transplant Program, Liver Disease and Hepatobiliary program at any and all hospital meetings. Maintain records for all RNs\' current WA state licensure and any other outreach states for which RNs must maintain current licensure. Ensures RNs attend and complete annual CME training. Performs other duties as assigned. Required qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in a health-related field Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 2 years experience in health-related field Preferred qualifications
