Case Western Reserve University / University Hospitals Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences 2025-08-11 The University Hospitals Eye Institute and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at University Hospitals/ Case Western Reserve University brings together world-renowned physicians and leading research scientists to prevent, treat, and cure diseases of the eye- all while training the next generation of ophthalmologists and vision researchers. The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is seeking an academically oriented general/comprehensive surgeon to grow our vibrant 5-member team of comprehensive ophthalmologists and 6 optometrists. Appointment at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or full Professor is available and commensurate with experience. The position entails clinical activity at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and 2 satellite clinics. The department supports a 6 resident per year Ophthalmology training program, as well as fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Glaucoma, and Retina. The department has a busy clinical research group providing a tremendous infrastructure for clinical research interests as well as a productive and collaborative laboratory science team. The successful candidate must maintain high clinical and ethical standards that are carried into decision-making processes, adhere to compliance measures, establish and promote an atmosphere of unity through collaborative practice and effective communication between all staff disciplines, and foster a high level of patient and staff satisfaction. Excellent surgical and diagnostic skills are required. A strong interest in teaching is desirable. The candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Ophthalmology. The candidate must also possess/maintain a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio. How to Apply
