About On-Call Employment With ICF
Given the seasonal or project-specific nature of our work, ICF hires environmental professionals as “On-Call” employees. These employees work on a flexible schedule, accepting or declining work hours as they become available, and may work on multiple projects provided there are no conflicts of interest.
Responsibilities
Perform field surveys for special-status species, habitats, and natural communities, including walking transects, habitat mapping, trapping, and species identification.
Conduct environmental compliance monitoring at construction sites, including preconstruction surveys and coordination with crews.
Evaluate project plans for potential impacts on biological resources.
Document survey results and monitoring activities through detailed notes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, or related field.
At least 3 years of experience in biological and construction monitoring and surveys in Northern California.
Valid driver’s license and successful MVR check.
Preferred Skills
Experience with surveys for Northern CA wildlife species such as mammals, giant garter snake, California tiger salamander, California red-legged frog, and foothill yellow-legged frog.
Experience with nesting bird, rail, and raptor surveys.
Monitoring construction crews and ensuring environmental compliance.
Proficiency with data entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, and GPS technology.
