Programs at the Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders include hematology, oncology, stem cell and marrow transplantation, a state-funded sickle cell program, and a regional hemostasis and thrombosis center. Care is provided in Akron, at the Beeghly campus in Boardman, Ohio, and via a monthly outreach clinic in the Amish Community. The Hematology/Oncology team comprises 10 faculty members, 17 advanced practice providers, and an extensive nursing and support staff. Patient and service metrics

Each year the center cares for approximately 95 new oncology patients, 15 stem cell/marrow transplant patients, 160 sickle cell patients, and 540 bleeding disorder patients. Staff provide care through about 12,000 patient encounters annually. Hospital overview
