As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you''ll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals. Role Summary The General Superintendent will develop and execute the project plan and oversee all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity. This position will be responsible for managing the team, planning all construction sequencing and meeting project goals. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. Responsibilities – Core

Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff as needed. Provides management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow. Manages and oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers and programs such as Safety, Quality and EEO for a small project or a major portion of a larger project. Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work. Coordinates and manages the care, custody and control of the project site. Leads various meetings including daily standup and weekly trade meetings; attends and participates in progress and/or project OAC meetings. Creates, manages, changes and implements the project’s schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager. Tracks and monitors project budget and costs using project management system reports and data from the project manager. Communicates key project information to owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers and other departments. Follows project filing and documentation procedures; updates drawings, logs, diaries and inspection notebooks. Records unit costs for weekly reports and completes daily reports, logs and tracking reports. Evaluates progress on self-perform work and makes adjustments as needed. Manages material and equipment needs for the project. Supports procurement and approval processes (Material and Other Costs) and Dunn Logistics Service Center. Assists in selecting formwork, tools and equipment for self-perform operations. Manages timecard approval to ensure accurate hours and cost codes. Ensures quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC and external resources. Supports project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with the owner, architect and authorities. Gains understanding of the project pursuit process and methodology. Participates with field operations leadership and project team to develop a project pre-plan and adjust throughout the lifecycle. Partners with field leadership to establish field staffing for their project and with project management to identify schedule and cost changes. Participates in negotiations with the owner and architect to gain agreement for project changes. Participates in project review meetings and buyout meetings with subcontractors and vendors. Understands and applies the terms and conditions of owner and subcontractor contracts. Responsible for identifying and recruiting top talent; leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion; understands JE Dunn’s non-discrimination policy and implements it throughout the organization. Manages the largest, most complex stand-alone and/or multiple complex projects from initial planning to completion. Provides management and/or oversight to multiple projects and project teams. Provides input, leads and executes company and regional strategic initiatives. Participates in development of training content and in the selection and development of internal subject matter experts. Delivers leadership messages effectively to multiple audiences both internally and externally. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Accurate and timely work with attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills (Advanced). Effective presentation abilities (Advanced). Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate). Fundamentals of construction management applied to projects. Thorough knowledge of project processes and how they support successful completion. Ability to build relationships across teams and departments. Project management and accounting software proficiency (Intermediate). Proficiency in JE Dunn construction technology (Advanced). Scheduling software proficiency (Intermediate). Ability to apply Lean principles (Intermediate). Knowledge of trades, self-perform and labor productivity (Advanced). Budget management, profitability, and business development through relationships (Advanced). Understanding of document changes and their impact on project schedule. Layout, crane flagging and rigging knowledge (Advanced). Productivity rates and cost management skills (Intermediate). Ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred). Equivalency of relevant experience will be considered. Experience

12+ years construction experience. 10+ years field supervision experience. Experience leading Lean principles on projects (Preferred). Working Environment
