Base pay range $68,806.40/yr - $125,174.40/yr Surgical Care Unit is a 31-bed surgical/trauma unit with cardio/pulmonary monitoring for each bed. The unit focuses on family-centered nursing care for patients with surgical conditions, including orthopedic conditions from infancy through adolescence. Primary patient subgroups include Burns, Trauma, Pediatric General Surgery, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic trauma, Spina Bifida, Spinal fusion, Bariatric Surgery. Burns Trauma Pediatric General Surgery ENT Reconstructive Surgery Urology Ophthalmology Orthopedic trauma Spina Bifida Spinal fusion Bariatric Surgery All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children’s National policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Children’s National supports the development of RN relationships within the community to support the health and well-being of the community at large. Minimum Education and Experience
BSN (preferred) from an approved school of nursing. 1 year RN experience (required). Required Skills/Knowledge
Knowledge of current nursing practice and ability to maintain knowledge base with changes in the specialty area. Successfully complete hospital and nursing orientation at Children’s National. Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia depending on practice location (required). CPR certification (required). Functional Accountabilities
