Qualifications To qualify, applicants must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending training or license completion applicants may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met previous qualification standards are deemed qualified.
Basic Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens only if recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school Current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S. Completed residency training approved by VA, leading to eligibility for board certification Proficiency in English Preferred: Certification by AMIA or board certification in clinical informatics Physical requirements include visual acuity, hearing, speech, manual dexterity, and ability to perform physical tasks as per VA standards Duties
Support informatics strategy and improve Veteran care at both John J. Pershing and Marion VAMCs Based in Poplar Bluff, Marion, or St. Louis with monthly travel to both sites Serve as the primary informatics advisor to facility leadership Perform core informatics functions: application support, data management, content management, system optimization, change management, requirements management, and partnership management Lead efforts in procurement, customization, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems Work schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday
