Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings. Performs complete histories and physical examinations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops care plans and follow-up based on diagnostic findings. Maintains high-quality, timely documentation such as admission notes, progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries. Performs bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population. Orders medications and writes prescriptions in accordance with organizational policies. Education
Master's Degree in Nursing required. Experience cannot replace the degree. Licenses and Credentials
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state (preferred) License as Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state (preferred) Experience
0-1 year experience as a nurse practitioner preferred; 2+ years in a primary care setting highly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skilled in taking medical histories and interpreting findings. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Calm and effective in emergency situations. Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients and staff.
