The Department of Medicine of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC), located in Baltimore, MD, are recruiting for a full-time Medical Director of the University of Maryland St. Joseph Cancer Institute, located in Towson, MD. Administrative duties and responsibilities of the Medical Director role will include, but not be limited to:

Developing, evaluating, and implementing clinical programs that create competitive and clinically appropriate patient access, in conjunction with the leadership team.

Representing the oncology service line to the community, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure seamless access to services, patient education, and screening programs.

Acting as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for hospitalized patients as needed.

Ensuring care delivery meets regulatory, practice, and accreditation standards.

Providing medical expertise on capital/strategic planning, infection control, policies, safety, and emergency preparedness.

Identifying and promoting patient safety improvements and resolving care conflicts.

Collaborating with Oncology Practice Leadership and UM SJMC Leadership to develop annual clinical goals aligned with the Oncology Clinical Service Line roadmap.

Participating in UM Cancer Network Clinical and Research meetings, ensuring information dissemination to onsite teams.

Conducting physician peer reviews and supporting ongoing medical education for providers.

Supporting marketing, outreach, and community engagement efforts.

Performing other duties as assigned within the UM Cancer Network.

The Cancer Institute at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center offers comprehensive treatment with a team of specialists and access to advanced technology, in partnership with the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher, depending on qualifications.

Qualifications:

MD or DO degree, board certified or eligible by ABIM in Internal Medicine and Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.

Eligibility for a medical license in Maryland.
