Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides healthcare focused on disease prevention, health promotion, health maintenance, and supportive care.
Works independently and collaboratively to diagnose, prescribe treatment, manage, and evaluate patient care.
Acts as an educator, healthcare resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
Applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and performs related duties.
Demonstrates professional development and clinical competency, with knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, and medical care for patients of all ages according to the practice specialty.
Serves in a clinical role to assist the physician in ensuring comprehensive patient care.
Interacts directly with patients and their families to maximize quality of care.
Required: Signed collaborative agreement and a valid DEA number if prescribing controlled substances.
Qualifications
Work Experience (Basic): Three years as a nurse
Work Experience (Desired): One year in the specialty area
Education (Required): Master’s Degree
Education (Desired): [Specify if any]
Certification (Required): One of the following: CNS or NP AND one of: CNS-S or NNP, as appropriate to licensure
Certification (Desired): Clinical Nurse Specialist OR CNS with a specialty
