The University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a Gastroenterologist. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track, depending on experience and research interests. The position may also be considered at the Instructor of Pediatrics level, non-tenure or clinical track. The selected individual will join the Division of Pediatrics and Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Pancreatology, and Nutrition to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a gastroenterologist.

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Pancreatology, and Nutrition is the state's only tertiary academic care program committed to providing the highest level of care to children with digestive, liver, and pancreatic disorders. It includes multidisciplinary clinics such as Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Clinic, Pediatric Feeding Clinic, Fontan Clinic, IBD Clinic, Aerodigestive and Tracheostomy Clinic, among others. The division holds the National Pancreas Foundation's Pancreas Center of Excellence designation, one of few pediatric hospitals in the country with this recognition. The fellowship program is ACGME-accredited for over 25 years, graduating one fellow per year. The division has robust research programs, including NIH-funded studies like INSPPIRE, the first multicenter collaboration examining pediatric pancreatitis. The team comprises nine physicians, three fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, dieticians, social workers, speech pathologists, and case workers, collaborating with various pediatric specialties. The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine ranks highly nationally, with top NIH funding among public medical schools. The UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics is ranked No. 25 in NIH funding among public pediatric departments nationwide. Iowa's only nationally ranked children's hospital, UI Stead Family Children's Hospital, is part of the department, featuring dedicated endoscopy procedure rooms, pediatric anesthesia support, and a new pediatric specialty clinic. The hospital trains 50 pediatric residents annually. Education:

Must hold an MD/DO degree or equivalent Qualifications:

Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics or equivalent; Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology or equivalent; Licensed or eligible for licensure in Iowa Preferred Qualifications
