Position Highlights:
Position: Neonatal Pediatric Hospitalist - Neonatology
Location: Elmhurst Hospital, Elmhurst, IL
Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time (average of 40 hours/week). Part-time and Per Diem options available; salary prorated.
Salary: $162,000-$193,000. Pay rate depends on expertise and experience.
Hours: 24/7 staffing with flexible hours

Elmhurst Hospital is a Level IIe Special Care Nursery with over 3,000 annual births. Our nursery provides private rooms for term infants requiring transitional or long-term care for late preterm infants. The Neonatology Department seeks a Neonatal Pediatric Hospitalist to work collaboratively with a neonatologist and independently, utilizing critical judgment in delivery room resuscitation, newborn diagnosis, management, and long-term care for late preterm infants. The role involves autonomous and team-based responsibilities within the neonatal care team.
What you will need:
License:
MD license in Illinois required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required. Education:
Completion of an accredited pediatric residency or master's level program in a related specialty. Certifications:
BLS for Healthcare Providers and NRP certifications required. Specialty Certification:
Eligible for American Board of Pediatrics certification. Experience:
5+ years of inpatient newborn or relevant pediatric acute care experience preferred. Special Knowledge and Skills: Newborn airway management including intubation Central line placement (umbilical and percutaneous venous catheters) Newborn chest tube placement Equipment: Stethoscope, monitors, small baby equipment Flow-inflating bag, ventilators (HFJV, HFOV, conventional, NIMV, iNO) Sterile procedures, therapeutic hypothermia Responsibilities: Providing medical care to newborns in L&D, nursery, and ICU during scheduled shifts Maintaining accurate medical records Performing procedures such as PPV, intubation, central lines, chest tubes Participating in quality improvement and policy development Serving as a clinical resource and engaging in research opportunities Benefits: Career development pathways Medical, dental, and vision options Tuition reimbursement Free parking Wellness and savings plans Retirement plans with company match Paid time off and holidays Community involvement opportunities Endeavor Health, serving over 4.2 million residents across six counties, operates more than 300 locations and eight hospitals, including Magnet-recognized facilities.
