The Gastroenterologist (GI) physician provides comprehensive medical and selected specialty services for outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home patients, including consultative care for GI and liver disease. The physician oversees the administration of conscious sedation and performs GI procedures such as EGD (gastroscopy), complex stricture dilation, EGD with PEG, colonoscopies, push enteroscopy, GI manometry, Bravo studies, and advanced imaging (NBI and chromoendoscopy). The incumbent participates in the education and training of residents, fellows, medical students, and non-physician clinical trainees, and is involved in ground rounds and lectures. Administrative, direct patient care, teaching, and research are integrated into the activities of the staff Gastroenterologist physician. Responsibilities
Provide inpatient and outpatient consultation services related to GI and liver disease. Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases using standard methods. Oversee administration of conscious sedation during procedures. Perform GI procedures (EGD, colonoscopies, and related advanced imaging and techniques). Lead and participate in research and education/training activities; engage in academic appointment processes with UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. Educate and train residents, fellows, medical students, and non-physician trainees; participate in rounds and lectures. Qualifications
Eligible for an academic appointment with UCSF Fresno School of Medicine at the UCSF Fresno campus; involvement in teaching, research, and academic duties. Experience in supervision and leadership in gastroenterology services; ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Benefits and Compensation
Competitive salary range of $350,000 to $400,000 annually. Performance bonus and recruitment incentive opportunities. Annual cost of living increases and biennial salary reviews.
