Overview
Mayo Clinic’s Department of Ophthalmology in Rochester, MN is seeking a board-eligible/board-certified, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon to join our established practice. This position involves clinical care of patients, a busy surgical practice, and resident and fellow teaching and supervision in the clinics and operating rooms. Candidates should have an academic interest in clinical and/or laboratory research. The department has a strong history and tradition in treating patients with serious and complex eye disease, and currently comprises 40 faculty members who cover all subspecialty areas of ophthalmology.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical care to patients with vitreoretinal diseases
Perform a high-volume surgical practice
Teach and supervise residents and fellows in clinics and operating rooms
Engage in clinical and/or laboratory research as appropriate
Qualifications
Board-certified or board-eligible in ophthalmology
Fellowship-trained in vitreoretinal surgery
Strong surgical and clinical skills with a commitment to teaching
