Pediatric Cardiologist
to join
Ochsner Health Baton Rouge
in a busy outpatient-based pediatric cardiology practice as a partner to two experienced pediatric cardiologists. The role is primarily outpatient with some inpatient responsibilities, mainly NICU care and inpatient pediatric cardiology consults at several local hospitals. The position requires a strong background in transthoracic echo, and fetal echo experience is preferred. J-1 visa sponsorship is available. The Pediatric Cardiology clinic is based at the Shaquille O’Neal Pediatric Super Clinic inside the Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove. The fifth floor is dedicated to treating kids, with a full complement of pediatricians and pediatric specialists. The Ochsner Health Baton Rouge Cardiology practice is closely affiliated with the New Orleans-based Ochsner Children’s Hospital Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Ochsner Health has all pediatric cardiac subspecialties, including EP, ACHD, heart failure/heart transplant, interventional cardiology, imaging including echocardiography and cardiac MRI, and fetal cardiology. The team includes 3 congenital heart surgeons, and patients are cared for in a dedicated pediatric intensive care unit. In addition to patient care, Ochsner Children’s Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland.
