Join our expanding team at Shriners Children's Portland as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist and play a crucial role in providing exceptional care for infants, children, and adolescents. We're seeking a full-time board-certified/eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our all-physician anesthesia group dedicated to clinical excellence, research, and education. You'll have the opportunity to develop and expand regional anesthesia skills, and collaborate with a group of Pediatric Anesthesiologists dedicated to providing quality, safe care to children experiencing a range of common and complex medical and orthopedic needs.
As an all-physician group, our pediatric anesthesiologists provide direct care to patients undergoing a variety of orthopedic procedures including complex spine and hip surgery. In addition, our team provides anesthesia care to patients undergoing cleft lip and palate, oral and maxillofacial, plastics, and Nuss procedures. This position entails a 1.0 FTE, full-time commitment with rotating home call responsibilities 1 week out of every six. No night, weekend, or holiday coverage expectations otherwise. Compensation ranges between $427,373-$685,314 annually, commensurate with experience and departmental equity.
Checks anesthesia equipment according to current guidelines Formulates anesthetic plan based on birth history, physical examination, and laboratory results Inserts endotracheal tubes and intravenous catheters Sets up intravenous and intra-arterial fluid systems appropriately Utilizes all current techniques of monitoring Ensures intra-operative patient management is appropriate Ensures patient management in the PACU is appropriate Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia, along with Pediatric Anesthesia board Certification (or eligibility) and board Certification in Anesthesiology. Must possess or be eligible for OR medical license Must possess or be eligible for DEA license Must be BLS, ACLS and PALS certified 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience is preferred, but graduating fellows are encouraged to apply Seniority level
