PRN Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
to join its highly skilled hospitalist program at UT Health Tyler, a 502-bed Level 1 Trauma Center in East Texas.
Your Work:
7 on / 7 off schedule
12-hour shifts (12:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
Hospitalist experience required
Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff and other APPs
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, optimize clinical outcomes, and improve care delivery processes
Utilize Epic EMR

Your Hospital/Practice/Health System: The UT Health East Texas system comprises nine hospitals, over 90 physician clinics, more than 500 employed providers, 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two emergency centers, six urgent care clinics, regional home health services covering 41 counties, an EMS fleet of more than 60 ambulances and four helicopters, and a comprehensive seven-trauma center care network, including a Level 1 trauma center. Our primary service area has a population of over 600,000.
About UT Tyler School of Medicine: The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train healthcare professionals to serve rural and underserved communities, especially in East Texas.
The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, including family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Additionally, the Master of Biotechnology program emphasizes medical research and biotechnology innovation, preparing students for careers in research, diagnostics, and therapeutics.
Construction and Expansion: Construction is underway on a new Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler’s Midtown District, scheduled for completion in fall 2025. The MEB will support interdisciplinary education and expand medical training across the UTHealth East Texas system.
