General Gastroenterologist
to join its practice at
UT Henderson, TX (34 miles east of Tyler, TX)
and
UT Jacksonville, TX (27 miles south of Tyler, TX) .
About Your Work:
Join 4 physicians, 2 advanced providers, and support staff
Support two rural short-term acute care hospitals – Henderson (96 beds) and Jacksonville (33 beds)
Full-time employed position
No EUS or ERCP required
Both inpatient and outpatient services
Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (Clinic & Procedure days)
Expect 20-30 patients per day
Opportunity to work with residents
Open to new graduates

About UT Tyler School of Medicine:
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train healthcare professionals to serve rural and underserved communities, especially in East Texas.
The school offers 20 residency and fellowship programs, including family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. It also has a Master of Biotechnology program focused on medical research and biotechnology innovation.
Construction is underway on a new 248,000 sq ft Medical Education Building in Tyler’s Midtown District, scheduled for completion in fall 2025. It will support interdisciplinary education and expand medical training across the UT Health East Texas system.

UT Health Henderson is a 96-bed hospital with emergency services, surgical suites, diagnostic imaging, obstetrics, orthopedics, and a sleep lab.
UT Health Jacksonville is a 33-bed hospital offering emergency care, ICU, labor and delivery, nursery, surgical suites, and advanced diagnostic imaging, including 3D mammography.
Both hospitals are accredited by The Joint Commission and received an “A” grade in the 2025 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
UT Health East Texas includes 9 hospitals, 90+ clinics, rehabilitation facilities, emergency centers, home health services, and a trauma network, with nearly 400 providers and 7,000 staff members.
