Pediatric Anesthesiologist

LCMC Health . Your job is more than a job. The Pediatric Anesthesiologist provides services to patients undergoing surgery or diagnostic studies requiring sedation or anesthesia. Consults with surgeons and subspecialists, prepares and evaluates pre-anesthetic assessments, monitors intraoperative anesthesia, and manages post-anesthetic care. Responsible for life support, respiratory care, and physiologic support throughout the hospital when required. Provides pain management services for perioperative patients and consultations for pain management. Offers technical oversight and assistance to the sedation team. Your Daily Responsibilities
Directs anesthesia and sedation services across the hospital. Ensures delivery of anesthesia services following recognized standards, including patient consent, infection control, safety practices, and protocols for supportive life functions. Completes reporting and clinical documentation as required. Maintains anesthesia equipment, including monitoring, inspection, testing, and upkeep. Performs complete pre- and post-procedural anesthesia/sedation evaluations within strict timelines. Plans, directs, and supervises all anesthesia activities for patients under care. Ensures the quality and appropriateness of anesthesia care. Participates in quality assurance programs to evaluate and improve anesthetic care, resolving any issues identified. Minimum Requirements
Education:
Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy. Licenses and Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS from the American Heart Association; Medical Physician license in Louisiana; Controlled Dangerous Substances license. Skills and Abilities
Proven competence in anesthesiology to maintain clinical privileges. Compliance with Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners CME requirements. Demonstrated competence in advanced life support. Work Shift
