future Franciscan OrthoIndy Ambulatory Surgery Center, opening in West Lafayette, Indiana, on January 1, 2026.

We are looking for candidates with an interest in orthopedics and strong experience with regional anesthesia. The schedule will be PRN weekdays, with no in-house call and rarely called in. Approximately 99% of cases are elective, ASA 3 or less. Be part of something great! GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: OrthoIndy’s Anesthesiologist Physician is responsible for administering anesthetics prior to, during, or after surgery or other medical procedures at a premier orthopedic ambulatory surgery center. Cases primarily include total joint replacement, hand and upper extremity, sports medicine, shoulder, arthroscopy, foot and lower extremity, and general orthopedics. Administers anesthetic or sedation during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal, or caudal methods. Monitors patients before, during, and after anesthesia, managing reactions and complications. Monitors vital signs during procedures. Coordinates anesthetic administration with surgeons during operations. Provides medical care and consultations, prescribes medications and treatments, and refers patients for surgery. Records the type and amount of anesthesia and patient condition throughout procedures. Confers with other medical professionals to determine the type and method of anesthetic or sedation. Coordinates with physicians, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare staff. Provides and maintains life support and airway management, and helps prepare patients for surgery. Examines patients, obtains medical history, and uses diagnostic tests to assess risks. Orders lab tests, imaging, or other diagnostics. Monitors post-surgery patients and determines when they are stabilized enough to move or go home. Educates patients and families on post-procedure care and potential complications. Instructs on disease prevention and health improvement. REQUIREMENTS: MD or DO degree required Specialty Board Certified/eligible Board certification by the ABA required BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of experience in a private group anesthesia practice Fellowship in regional anesthesia desirable; proficiency in regional blocks required West Lafayette, Indiana, is ideally located between Indianapolis and Chicago.
