The Medical Director plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical care within a correctional facility, including examining referred patients, daily infirmary visits, and ensuring thorough, problem-oriented documentation in EMR or on approved forms. Demonstrate clinical expertise by responding to emergencies, supervising and instructing healthcare personnel, and consulting with medical specialists and professionals to deliver high-quality care while adhering to established policies and standards. Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator to improve patient outcomes through continuous quality improvement initiatives, including Chronic Care Clinics, pharmacy service monitoring, and liaison with community healthcare providers. Review and approve treatment protocols, clinical policies, and disaster plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies. Provide clinical oversight, participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, and make recommendations to enhance patient care and safety. Qualifications & Requirements
Education Medical school graduate. Experience Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health preferred. Licenses/Certifications Must have and maintain current licensure within the State of employment. Maintains a current DEA number. Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
