At PrairieCare, we are committed to delivering exceptional treatment to our patients. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating individuals with psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and medical problems. Your expertise will help guide our interdisciplinary team in providing comprehensive care that aligns with our treatment philosophy.

What You'll Do

Leadership Role:

Lead the interdisciplinary team in supporting PrairieCare’s treatment programs, ensuring a holistic approach to mental health care.

Quality Treatment:

Deliver high-quality treatment to adults, adolescents, and children with psychiatric and substance use disorders, as well as their families, in accordance with your granted Medical Staff privileges.

Diverse Settings:

Provide services across various settings, including hospital, partial hospital, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and residential programs.

Resource Familiarity:

Stay informed about follow-up resource services available to adults, adolescents, and children to ensure continuity of care.

Therapeutic Engagement:

Conduct individual and family therapy sessions, fostering a supportive environment for healing and growth.

What you bring

Licensure:

Licensed in the State of Minnesota to practice medicine.

Training:

Successfully completed an accredited Postgraduate Training Residency.

Certification:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

Medical Privileges:

Ability to maintain required medical staff privileges and malpractice insurance.

Knowledge Base:

Knowledgeable about adult, adolescent, and child psychiatric disorders, as well as advanced principles of abnormal psychology.

Confidentiality:

Ability to maintain information as highly confidential.

Documentation Skills:

Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical record documentation.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, and able to access and use intranet sites as necessary.

Adaptability:

Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Crisis Management:

Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations, making effective decisions under stress.

Patient Management:

After training, capable of managing disruptive and explosive patients.

DEA Certification:

DEA certification in MN is required.
