The Division of Correctional Health Services (CHS)
of New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H), this role involves providing comprehensive medical and mental health care within the NYC jail system. The service offers a variety of treatment modalities, including specialty housing units, 24-hour psychiatric services, substance use treatment, and more. Responsibilities: Provide psychiatric care, including evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent consultations for incarcerated individuals. Consult with non-prescribing mental health and medical staff regarding diagnosis and treatment. Participate in team meetings and contribute to individual treatment planning. Assess patients for higher levels of care, including hospitalization, and ensure continuity of care. Document activities accurately in the electronic medical record. Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants as needed. Engage in clinical supervision with psychiatric leadership. Supervise psychiatric volunteers, including residents or fellows. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors. Location:
