Overview Touro College of Dental Medicine invites applications for the position of Orthodontic Clinical Faculty. The academic rank and salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. These positions will remain open until filled. Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Director of Orthodontics, Director of Clinical Education, and Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs, the faculty member will be responsible for:

Guiding doctor/patient interactions.

Reviewing student rosters regularly.

Arriving before clinical sessions to oversee patient care, monitor student performance, and guide treatment planning and progress.

Modeling and advising students on professionalism and patient management techniques.

Assisting in resolving patient-related issues.

Reviewing student performance in clinical practice, including quality and quantity of care, resource management, and progress towards treatment goals.

Ensuring accuracy of notes, charges, and professionalism, and obtaining subsequent approvals.

Discharging or transferring clinical responsibilities when leaving early.

Monitoring unapproved notes and treatments regularly.

Reporting misconduct.

Maintaining calibration and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and infection control standards.

Completing reviews of student activities as requested.

Supervising Clinical Formative and Summative Examinations.

Participating in periodic meetings with the Director and clinical faculty, including the Faculty Forum.

Serving on relevant Clinical Committees if appointed.

Qualifications Education/Experience

Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) required.

Completion of an accredited orthodontic residency program is required.

Orthodontist experience is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong attention to detail.

Certifications/Licenses

CPR Certification required.

NPI Number required.

Dental License Registration in NY required.

Active NY dental license required; board certification strongly preferred.

Physical Demands

Extensive sitting and standing.

Compliance with NYMC campus Vaccine Mandate policy.

Salary Maximum: USD $51,000 per year; Minimum: USD $40,800 per year.
