Overview Oncology Staff Physician

role at

Cincinnati Children’s .

Responsibilities

Our staff physician team works in close conjunction with the attending oncology physician to provide day-to-day management for complex and acutely ill cancer patients.

Staff physicians work in the context of a multidisciplinary team with dietitians, pharmacists, social workers, care managers, child life, PT/OT, and nursing. In addition to the challenging and dynamic clinical experience, inpatient staff physicians have opportunities to participate in quality improvement, clinical guideline development and implementation, resident and medical student education, and clinical research.

Cincinnati Children’s faculty also developed and lead national clinical trials of novel therapies and transplant approaches. For more than 50 years, the culture of pediatric oncology has been one of many progressive advances in outcomes through productive national collaborations (e.g., the National Cancer Institute-funded Children’s Oncology Group), and this is a tradition in which we are proud to participate and contribute.
