Responsibilities The staff hospitalist must competently care for hospitalized patients throughout their stay, including emergency evaluation, triage, admission, and differential diagnosis formation. Formulating a comprehensive care plan based on up-to-date, evidence-based protocols is essential. Excellent communication skills are required to collaborate effectively with primary care physicians, in-house consultants, and colleagues.
The hospitalist must interact professionally with all members of the patient care team, participate in educating house staff, students, nurses, and other team members. Ensuring high-quality care and patient safety during transitions back to outpatient care is vital. Deliver service excellence and prioritize patient satisfaction. Participation in Yale New Haven Hospital committees is encouraged to demonstrate leadership.
Qualifications Medical Degree (MD, DO) and completion of an Internal Medicine Residency.
