Overview
Job Description - Neonatologist (CA), PRN- Satellite Location (250000ZG) Description: The clinical associate physician is responsible for the care of patients in the hospital and clinics, as well as some advocacy and educational initiatives as determined by the Division Chief and/or the Center leadership. Responsibilities
Provide clinical services for patients at Children’s Hospital and other approved sites in an ethical, professional and timely manner. Provide oversight of the medical care team and manage direct patient care for a specified patient population; improve continuity of care, customer service and partnerships with community medical providers through timely completion of records and communication. Provide on-call services as determined by the division leadership. Actively participate in family centered care and communicate in a professional and compassionate manner; refer patients to specialists and to relevant ancillary services as appropriate. Avoid unnecessary escalations by appropriately utilizing the defined chain of command and escalation policies. Respond to team members and outside medical providers in a timely and respectful manner; communicate clearly to trainees expectations regarding patient updates and notifications of significant clinical changes, and encourage questions from trainees. Commitment to World Class Care and Advocacy: participate in CNMC’s advocacy initiatives and contribute scholarly effort to the advancement of public policy to promote population-based pediatric health and well being. Commitment to Education: participate in hospital/university–wide educational programs; provide timely feedback to trainees; ensure adequate orientation for the care that the trainees deliver; supervise and train clinical professionals and students effectively. Commitment to Quality & Compliance: follow bylaws, policies and procedures, quality improvement objectives, safety, infection control standards; complete clinical documentation per regulatory requirements; identify and recommend improvements; participate in policy development and hospital committees; review and prepare protocols; evaluate patient care against adopted protocols and quality criteria; participate in peer and staff evaluation and error reporting. Organizational Accountabilities: uphold the organization’s mission and core principles; demonstrate integrity and confidentiality; support diversity and teamwork; maintain patient safety and high-quality care. Safety: promote patient, family, and staff safety; verify information needed for decision making; act calmly in uncertainty and practice thorough self-checks; communicate clearly and timely. Qualifications
Minimum Education Medical Doctor (M.D.) from an accredited medical school. (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in neonatology; knowledge of legal and ethical standards; ability to function independently; ability to discuss ethical concepts with patients and families; ability to supervise and train professionals and students; commitment to continuing medical education; compliance with legal and ethical standards. Required Licenses and Certifications Fully licensed and credentialed attending physician on the medical staff; board certified or eligible in primary practice specialty.
