National Sales Director – Digital Retail
at S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan Partnership. We are looking for a seasoned Director of National Digital Retail Sales to develop, orchestrate and deliver go-to-market program strategies to increase the adoption of Market Scan products in the US automotive industry. This highly visible role will work with executive teams to build Digital Retail partnerships, strengthen value propositions, create broader market awareness, contribute to the product roadmap, and generate new business opportunities. Responsibilities
S&P Global Mobility is seeking an experienced sales manager and business development leader to contribute to revenue, margins, growth, and retention of the Digital Retail business. This role will have full relationship management responsibility for designated accounts, including automotive OEMs, automotive digital retail start-ups, dealership management systems providers, CRM companies, automotive dealership groups, and major online retailers. The person must understand the Digital Retail business, goals, strategies, industry trends, and how they map to S&P Global Mobility & Market Scan products and solutions. Responsibilities also include defining overall strategy, collaborating on marketing integrations, and demonstrating the value of our Market Scan Sales and Marketing platform. A track record of C-suite relationships and the ability to cultivate a growing network of executives is critical. Deliver revenue objectives associated with Market Scan sales and retention. Promote Market Scan and S&P Global Mobility adoption with Digital Retail accounts. Demonstrate product technology expertise and conduct product demos for prospective clients. Oversee product and technical integration after the sale and ensure process integration. Support dealer rollout by working with Digital Retail companies. Support product pilot phase with partner collaboration on scope, requirements, and launch. Manage terms and conditions of contracts. Operate with a high level of autonomy and accountability. Develop, track, and report business management statistics and KPIs. Utilize a strategic selling process and maintain account plans for assigned accounts. Strategy Requirements
Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with company objectives. Understand market dynamics affecting each prospect/client account and assess opportunities for new product development. Stay current with product, industry, and competitive knowledge; provide input to product managers (voice of the customer). Clearly articulate the S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan value proposition. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or higher in sales, marketing, or business; 10+ years of B2B direct consultative selling, account management, or equivalent experience. Minimum 10 years of automotive digital retail or related experience. Ability to travel up to 50% nationwide. Extensive, progressive experience in software sales or automotive industry. Proven track record with strong business acumen and problem-solving skills; thrives in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple relationships in a matrixed organization and be accountable for engagement and revenue goals. Ability to engage and manage C-suite relationships; strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Independent worker who can also collaborate in a team and adapt to less structured roles. Data-driven, detail-oriented, and execution-focused with a history of achieving sales targets and selling broad-based solutions. Experience leading initiatives and driving change; capable of developing and executing partner go-to-market plans. Experience developing and leading multiple strategic sales efforts through partner relationships.
