Position Requirements Opportunity for an anesthesiologist with full-service, short-term acute care hospital in East Stroudsburg, PA Description The 217-bed Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono (formerly Pocono Medical Center) is a full-service, short-term acute care hospital in East Stroudsburg, PA. The voluntary nonprofit is a member of the Lehigh Valley Health Network and was the first community hospital in Pennsylvania to receive full accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). Requirements Responsibilities Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures Pre-anesthesia assessment Obtains and/or verifies patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition Performance of clinical intervention as needed Requirements M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine ECFMC and FLEX Completion of approved residency in anesthesia Currently licensed as a physician Lifestyle East Stroudsburg, PA: Located in the scenic Pocono Mountains region of Pennsylvania, the borough of East Stroudsburg is home to the two largest service institutions in Monroe County. Once an industrial center, East Stroudsburg is known for its appealing, walkable downtown and its contemporary small-town style.
