Vernon Inpatient Rehab is looking for a dedicated Speech Therapist to join our team of therapists making a difference in our patients' lives. This role is PRN, with two weekend shifts a month, and requires 1 major and 1 minor holiday. Additional shifts are available if desired. Must be able to train during the week, Monday through Friday. The rehab space is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Responsibilities Document evaluation results clearly and completely, including all essential elements according to department policy. Complete daily progress notes reflecting patients' responses to treatment, performance, assessment, discharge needs, and summaries as needed. Complete discharge notes with treatment course, progress, recommendations, and education. Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and legible within established timeframes. Communicate with families, physicians, and healthcare team members to facilitate effective treatment plans. Provide educational materials suitable to patients' understanding and motivation. Include families/caregivers in education and training as appropriate. Collaborate effectively with team members, be open to feedback, and provide supervision to assistive personnel as per policies. Maintain productivity standards and complete administrative responsibilities timely. Participate in departmental educational efforts, committees, and special projects. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and knowledge of supplies, equipment, billing, and resources. Minimum Requirements VA Speech Language Pathologist License; Provisional license accepted if pursuing Clinical Fellowship (must be eligible for full licensure upon completion). Experience not required; 1 year in a rehab setting preferred. Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Sciences Disorders accredited by ASHA. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association. Preferred Qualifications At least one year of SLP experience in an inpatient rehab setting.
