We are seeking a VP/Director of Strategic Communications to lead high-stakes shareholder activism campaigns on behalf of our clients. In this pivotal role, you will craft the public narrative that supports complex investment theses, persuades key stakeholders—including investors, media, and proxy advisors—and drives successful outcomes in proxy contests. You will work directly with top-tier investors, analysts, and legal counsel to translate financial analysis into compelling messaging. Responsibilities
Campaign & Content Strategy:
Develop core campaign narratives and author all key materials, including public letters, white papers, investor presentations, and proxy communications. Media & Digital Engagement:
Lead media relations with top-tier financial journalists, manage campaign websites and social media, and monitor the media landscape to inform strategy. Stakeholder Management:
Craft the messaging for and engage directly with proxy advisory firms (ISS, Glass Lewis). Serve as the central hub, aligning clients, legal teams, and external vendors for seamless execution. Qualifications
5-10 years in strategic communications with a focus on high-stakes financial situations. Direct experience is required
in one of the following: A PR/communications agency specializing in M&A or shareholder activism. An in-house communications/IR role at an activist hedge fund. A corporate communications/IR role involving defense against an activist campaign. An exceptional writer and strategic thinker who can distill complex financial concepts into powerful, persuasive prose under pressure. Possess deep financial acumen, a strong network of financial media contacts, and excellent judgment in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or J.D. is a plus. Seniority level
