MAS Environmental (a NOVA Engineering & Environmental Company) is seeking a talented
Senior Environmental Project Manager
(PG or PE) to oversee environmental remediation projects throughout the state of Florida. The ideal candidate will be based in
Tampa, FL or Fort Lauderdale, FL
and can be either a geologist or engineer. This position leads environmental remediation projects under the FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program. The project manager will oversee all phases of project execution—from site assessment and remedial design to operations and maintenance (O&M)—ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and successful outcomes. The successful candidate will provide technical skills on projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable pursuit of new opportunities. The candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team. Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Manage PRP projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and regulatory milestones are met Remedial Design & Implementation: Oversee site assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering designs for soil and groundwater remediation Operations & Maintenance (O&M): Supervise the installation and performance of remedial systems, including monitoring wells and treatment technologies Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management Manage and direct professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects Lead teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices Utilize existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance Qualifications
BA/BS in Environmental Science or related field + 5 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Experience in environmental remediation (soil and water) project management Experience successfully managing environmental projects under FDEP’s Petroleum Restoration Program Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders. Interest in business development. Occasional overnight travel required Valid U.S Driver's License and, as a condition of employment, must pass Motor Vehicle Records Review Master's Degree in Environmental Science or related field (preferred) 5+ years’ experience in environmental remediation (soil and water) project management Professional License (PE or PG) Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations Thorough working knowledge of Chapter 62-780, Florida Administrative Code Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences NOVA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
