Volunteer Experience Manager

Overview
Volunteer Experience Manager role supporting PAIR (Partnership for the Advancement & Immersion of Refugees). This full-time, year-round position involves collaboration with program teams, the Director of Advancement, and the Director of Operations. Some evening and weekend work may be required, with daytime hours Monday–Friday and potential flexibility depending on programming commitments.
Position Responsibilities
Oversee volunteer recruitment efforts, including representing PAIR at events and speaking engagements, and maintaining volunteer opportunity listings on the PAIR website and volunteer boards
Ensure sufficient volunteer numbers at all programs
Coordinate and facilitate all volunteer training efforts
Ensure thorough volunteer onboarding, including screening and background checks
Develop volunteer engagement and recognition strategies and plan volunteer appreciation at the end of each semester
Directly supervise AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer Coordinator, maintaining a regular meeting schedule and checking in periodically on goals and areas for growth
Supervise interns and work study participants as needed
Create essential volunteer resources and tools such as training modules, volunteer manuals, and handbooks
Maintain an updated database of volunteer contact information, availability, skills, and resources (potentially in Airtable and/or Salesforce)
Engage in stakeholder management by attending volunteer engagement and other community events to recruit and promote PAIR volunteering opportunities
Maintain positive relationships with PAIR’s volunteers, Board of Directors, university partners, and other key stakeholders
Work closely with the development team to coordinate corporate interests and suitable volunteer projects
Create compelling and engaging volunteer content for newsletters, brochures, social media, press releases, website copy, and more
Develop and utilize tools to evaluate and report on volunteer performance, experience, and overall engagement
Provide data as needed on volunteer numbers, attendance, and outcomes for the organization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Experience supervising volunteers or other teams
Knowledge of or previous work with refugee and newcomer populations, preferred
Experience facilitating community partnerships
Strong written and oral communications skills and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM
Candidates will be required to undergo a background check with fingerprints
Must have own vehicle with valid driver’s license and insurance; must be willing to travel to school and community sites and transport students in rented vehicle when needed
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary range of $40,000 - 45,000/year
Monthly cell phone stipend of $25 and mileage reimbursement for position-related driving at the federal standard mileage rate for required travel in excess of mileage incurred for regular commute
Full-time employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance. Short-term disability and life insurance are paid in full by PAIR for full-time staff.
Full-time employees are eligible for twenty-two days of paid leave, ten days of paid sick time annually, and paid organization holidays.
