Clinical Nurse Specialist - San Diego, CA with Security Clearance at ClearanceJobs. In support of DAWSON's Enterprise Tele-Behavioral Health Clinical Services contract with the Defense Health Agency (DHA), we are seeking qualified candidates to fill our Clinical Nurse Specialist position in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities
Understand and apply advanced practice nursing theories and concepts as well as theories and concepts from other disciplines. Utilize evidence-based practices to guide nursing practice and support patients and their families. Provide advanced clinical knowledge and communication skills through role modeling, consultation, and education with nurses and healthcare providers to support nursing practice and improve patient outcomes. Create and develop evidence-based policies, procedures, protocols, and best practice models/guidelines using advanced clinical and specialty knowledge. Attend virtual and in-person staff meetings to provide case discussions, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement in alignment with Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. Assist senior level management with development of quality standards and regulations; prepare briefings and training of changes for providers concerning processes, policies, and requirements. Measure quality of services including patient satisfaction; provide administrative and procedural advice to the VH/VMC leadership to share with providers. Maintain knowledge of statutory and voluntary clinical quality management standards, regulations, and requirements; assist with quality assurance reviews on data quality within VH care; identify erroneous entries and documentation issues; analyze VH data to determine corrective actions. Prepare reports describing VH functions and workload (including weekly safety reports and monthly Patient Safety Committee reports). Assist in weekly quality checks for Joint Patient Safety Report (JPSR) data, identify coding, credentialing, and safety issues; use data manipulation and pivot tables to analyze raw data and provide statistical analysis. Assist senior management in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies for VH operations to enhance patient safety and quality of care. Qualifications
Degree: Master's degree in nursing. Education: Graduate from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing specialty program. Certification: Certified in the required CNS specialty by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty. Experience: Sufficient to meet clinical competency requirements specified in credentialing instructions. Liciense: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
