Overview
Tufts Medical Center – Boston, MA invites an aspiring Academic Radiologist with interest in Thoracic Imaging and/or Cardiovascular Imaging to join a growing Department of Radiology. The role supports residents in the Chest imaging and/or cardiovascular imaging areas and may offer leadership opportunities for suitably qualified candidates. The department emphasizes equitable opportunity, inclusive leadership, mentorship, life-work balance, and physician wellness. About the Role
Work as a team as an attending radiologist subspecializing in Thoracic Imaging or Cardiothoracic Imaging (depending on qualification and career focus) with residents rotating in Chest imaging (and/or cardiovascular imaging, if applicable). Leadership roles (e.g., Chief) may be available for suitably qualified candidates; discuss during application/interview. Interpret multimodality chest imaging (radiographs, CT, CT angiography, MRI, MR angiography). Be part of the Lung Cancer service line and represent radiology. Read cardiac CT and MRI and vascular imaging (CTA and MRA) is a plus but not required; there is a growing cardiac imaging service with potential leadership in cardiovascular imaging for qualified candidates. No procedures required. Teach radiology residents and fellows (the department has 22 radiology residency spots). Participate in research and quality improvement projects, typically supervising medical students, residents, and fellows. Weekend on-call duties (Plain Film, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) are remote with home workstations provided. Opportunities for internal moonlighting (extra weekend calls or evenings) available on a voluntary basis for additional income. Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and educational conferences. Full-time onsite work is desirable, with potential for partial remote work depending on individual needs and circumstances. Academic productivity, teaching contributions, and clinical work-based incentives are paid annually at the time of the annual performance review with the Chair. Academic time provided commensurate with educational/research needs; administrative time for leadership roles. Tufts Medical Center is a Level-1 Trauma Center located in downtown Boston and serves as the academic flagship of Tufts Medicine. Phillips 7700 3.0 Tesla MRI with ultrafast MR imaging supported by AI reconstructions, plus an additional 3.0 Tesla magnet and a 1.5 Tesla MR (all Philips). Two dual-source, dual-energy Siemens Force CT scanners. One AS 64 CT scanner with an IR guidance package. Eight GE E10 ultrasound machines. Requirements
MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degree. Board eligibility/certification by ABR or AOBR. Completed or in progress a Thoracic Imaging or Cardiovascular Imaging fellowship, or scheduled to complete after residency. Massachusetts medical licensure or eligibility. Visa Support
