Radiology technologist who competently performs routine and specialized radiology procedures to produce quality images for physicians and other health care providers. Works independently with sound judgment and developed clinical skills to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. Establishes rapport with patients, families, and healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, monitoring, and effective communication. Adheres to local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or helping orient other staff to the department.
Job Description Job Accountabilities
RADIOLOGY SERVICES
Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic examinations.
Operates complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment.
Ensures routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
Prepares for and assists physicians in radiological diagnostic and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures.
Explains and educates the patient on the procedure, medications or contrast media, and associated biological effects in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety.
Mentors and fosters a constructive environment that helps students and new technologists build confidence in their skills, knowledge and abilities.
SAFETY
Implements protection devices and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure (ALARA) to self, staff and patients.
Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each procedure.
Inspects and calibrates equipment for proper operation and records quality control results, reporting malfunctions to the supervisor.
COMPLIANCE
Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient protected health information (PHI) and protects PHI from disclosure.
Performs quality radiographic examinations in compliance with department standards, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations to deliver high-quality patient privacy and care.
Prepares, administers, and documents medications and contrast media in accordance with regulations.
Maintains certification and completes mandated continuing education requirements to meet accreditation and licensure requirements.
Education Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
Certification & Licensure
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and evidence of CRT/DRT application (may not begin work until CRT/DRT is verified online)
OR CRT/DRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist (state where work is performed)
ARRT
BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire
RHF - Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 days of hire if required at the affiliate

$63.84 to $79.80 per hour
Salary Note:
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. The range has not been adjusted for geographic differential. Compensation takes into account experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is one piece of the total rewards program. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
