CPMC-California Pacific Med Center Position Overview:

Plans, directs, and coordinates recreation or leisure based treatment programs for patients with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses. Responsibilities include but are not limited to patient evaluation and assessment, treatment selection and planning, and implementation of intervention for residents. Exercises sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient\'s plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Assists with clinical supervision of assistants and aides, and serves as clinical instructor for assigned students.

Job Description :

Education:

Other: Recreation Therapist graduate of an accredited university

Certification & Licensure:

REC-Recreational Therapist Upon Hire

OR CTRS-Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Upon Hire

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire

Typical Experience: 2 years recent relevant experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of Recreational Therapy principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.

Critical thinking, complex problem solving, decisive judgement and ability to work independently

Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements

Must be able to work in demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities completing work duties within expected timelines and requirements

Computer and required technology proficiency/ competencies

Demonstrates effective and efficient professional communication (verbal & written) skills as well as interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork/collaboration, customer service and community relations abilities

Able to retain and apply new knowledge & skills

Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement

Pay Range is $36.96 to $46.19 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
